The Bower Tavern

Chirp, chirp, in need of a cold drink? This local tavern at 487 New Brighton Road specialises in ‘pub’ fare and smokehouse food. 

Not to be beaten by the earthquakes, the crew at The Bower Tavern quickly rebuilt the business using containers – and came up with other other innovative ideas. Check out their Facebook page to see what’s up, as often there’s live music on a Sunday afternoon. You might be in luck and catch a local gig.

A handy place for you humans to have a ‘cold one’ (I’m led to believe that means lemonade, or a no/low alcohol beer or the like) after your walk or bike ride. See you after your refreshments!
