Banks Ave Dudley Stream Restoration

A future forest and wetland is growing upstream of here, higher up along the banks of Dudley Creek.

More than 4000 native seedlings have been planted by Avon Ōtākaro Network with the help of  Council Park Rangers from our city council,  an amazing group of humans from disability services Hohepa Canterbury, local residents, and workers who attended a series of corporate plant-days.

Birds like me are especially thrilled that the forest will grow up and outwards: to connect up the Green Spine. It will be an essential part of restoring the city’s ‘biodiversity corridor’.

I’m looking forward to the new  ‘real estate’ for birds. The forest will provide a wonderful space for me and my bird friends to build new homes! The plants will also increase the number of ‘takeaway’ outlets for us, too. (More bush, more insects. Yum!!)

The Green Spine biodiversity corridor will also provide shelter and cover, allowing us to more safely travel across the city.

Thank you, kind humans!
