Memorials

The Residential Red Zone has a rich history, not only post 2010 earthquake but culturally and as part of the early settlement of Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Over 5000 people were displaced from their homes to make way for the ecological restoration of the land and our wai.

A number of projects have been have been completed to honour some of those in our area. These include the Medway Bridge replacement and memorial, Di Madsen Heritage Garden and the John Taylor memorial.
