Restoration

Since our inception in 2011 have been the advocates for the maximum possible restoration of the Residential Red Zone indigenous ecosystem.

Our first project back in 2014 was the planting of the Mahinga Kai Exemplar at ANZAC reserve. It was also the first restoration in the Red Zone in collaboration with local iwi Ngāī Tahu and Ngāī Tūāhuriri as well as the Department of Conservation, Environment Canterbury and the Christchurch City Council.

The project was designed to show people what the rest of the green spine would potentially look like.

Other restoration projects include a collaboration wth The Green Lab ‘Riverbed Refuge’ planting along Dudley Stream and a community led pocket park in Banks Avenue.
